Proud of our History
Our family Mill stands on the River Mahon, just outside the village of Kilmacthomas in Co Waterford. It’s the perfect place for growing and milling oats and 235 years later, it’s a place we’re still proud to call home.
Built in 1785, the Mill has been a local landmark ever since and remains a hub for all of the cereal growers here in the county.
While other families travelled the world to set up homes, farms and businesses, we’ve found the perfect mix right here!
My grandfather’s vision was always to expand the business and in 1959, we built on to the Mill to allow for more growth. Originally powered by the River Mahon alone, we still use the river as a natural energy source, along with solar and wind energy. Nature has been good to us, so we do as much as we can to work in harmony with the environment.
We’re very proud of the history and the heritage of the Mill and of the generations of local people who have worked here alongside us. It really is special to be a part of the same business that your great-great grandparents founded and worked so hard to build. We often wonder what they’d think if they saw how far we’ve come today.
Our goal is to look after the business as custodians, handing it on in better condition to the next generation and hopefully, to see it prosper and grow into the future.
