Honey Roast Plums with Ginger & Orange Porridge
Full of warming winter flavour, this recipe combines sweet honey with subtle heat from the ginger
Serves 4|Takes 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
160g Flahavan’s Progress Oatlets
1 litre Whole Milk
400g/6-7 plums
2 tablespoons of honey
20g/3-4 pieces of crystallised ginger, finely chopped
Zest and juice of 1 orange
METHOD:
Roast Plums Method:
Heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Halve the plums and remove the stones. Place cut side up in an oven proof dish and sprinkle over the ginger. Mix half the orange zest with the honey and drizzle over the plums. Pour over the orange juice and put in the hot oven for 20-25 minutes until the plums are soft but still holding their shape and a little caramelised.
Porridge Method:
Stir 160g Flahavan’s Progress Oatlets into 1 litre of whole milk in a pan.
Bring to the boil on the hob and simmer for 5 minutes stirring continuously.
Pour creamy porridge into 4 serving bowls and serve with the roast plums.
Top Tip: The roast plums should stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days!
